This video will show you some basic skills of Scratch.

Second Lesson in Scratch

In this lesson you will learn how to add randomness, and sequence and iteration to a project.

Third Lesson in Scratch

In this lesson you will learn how to use variables blocks, sensing blocks, broadcasting and layers to a project.

NOW using the skills you have learned make your own Scratch animation or game.

Students will watch 5 Scratch video tutorials and complete the projects as demonstrated in the lessons. Videos can be shown on the overhead and can be done as a class or students can watch them individually on their computer. If the videos are moving too fast: paused the video – do the steps and continue…

Scratch Final Project

Objective: Develop a Creative final Scratch Project that demonstrates your skills and cleverness using Scratch.  Build on one of our previous projects or try a new one. Pull ideas from video and scratch card tutorials

Key Vocabulary:

password protection: the requirement that visitors use a password when they access a website so that only certain people can view the site and participate in its online activities

random: having no pattern

security: freedom from danger; online, “security” refers to protecting one’s private information and protecting a computer from viruses or “malware”

screen name: the online name you choose to log in with or to post on a website
